Keynote Speaker

Professor Tim Kasser  holds a Ph.D. in psychology and is currently Professor and Chair of Psychology at Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois. He is the author of numerous scientific articles and book chapters on materialism, values, and goals, among other topics. His books include: The High Price of Materialism, Psychology and Consumer Culture, Meeting Environmental Challenges: The Role of Human Identity. He spends a good deal of his time working with activist groups that protect children from commercialization, that promote ecological sustainability, and that encourage a more “inwardly rich” lifestyle than what is offered by consumerism.

We are looking forward to welcoming Tim to Tampa for the keynote address entitled, "Children, Values, and Consumer Culture."
